Lawyer, Sean T. MacDonald Law Office & Director, Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted
Sean graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1999 and articled with the Toronto law firm of Fraser and Beatty (now Dentons). He was retained on his first pro bono wrongful conviction case on the first day of his call to the bar in Ontario. From that point onward, in addition to his regular practice in the areas of corporate commercial litigation, he continued a commitment to wrongful conviction cases which to date have resulted in the elimination of 55 years of wrongful imprisonment. He is currently counsel on a Nova Scotia wrongful conviction case seeking to exonerate an innocent man who has served almost 17 years of wrongful imprisonment. Sean is also a board member of the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted (“AIDWYC”) in Canada and the Innocence Network in the United States.
